A 24-year-old man charged with murder rejected a plea offer during reception court on Oct. 21.
Daqwan Sawyer is accused of the murder of Danny Henson, 31, on May 4 on the 5100 block of Williston Street. Another man, Cadeem Green, 23, is also charged in this incident.
Sawyer is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of firearm use in the commission of a crime, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
On Thursday, the prosecution offered Sawyer a plea of life with the possibility of parole for first-degree murder. This is the same offer given to his co-defendant on Oct. 20.
Sawyer and his defense attorney, Josh Insley, rejected the offer.
He will be tried along with Green on April 19, 2022.
