On Jan.8, 46-year-old Michael Harvey appeared in court before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Robert K. Taylor Jr. for opening statements in a murder case.
Harvey, represented by Jason Ott, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony crime, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, having a handgun in a vehicle, and making a false statement to an officer in connection to the murder of Aaron Adams, 29.
The assistant state’s attorney said the prosecution will present surveillance camera footage, phone call records picked up from nearby cell towers and testimony from witnesses. All of these threads, the prosecution says, show the defendant orchestrated the shooting near 600 block of Laurens Street.
However, the defense attorney insisted his client did not kill anyone nor did he have a gun at the time of the incident. Ott told the jury the video evidence the prosecution recovered is insufficient to prove the defendant is guilty.
