Charles Robert Hicks III, who was convicted in 1996 for the stabbing death of his then live-in girlfriend, 26-year-old Nancy Klotz, is back in court for a probation violation.

The 56-year-old man was released on probation for the 1996 murder. Subsequently, he was arrested for home invasion, burglary, and first-degree assault, which violated his probation in June 2021.

On Sept. 6, the state’s attorney told the judge that she was unsure if this was also a domestic violence-related incident. She said the prosecution was awaiting an actual copy of a protective order from the clerk’s office in Baltimore County.

The trial for the Baltimore County case is slated for February 2023.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie Hong set another violation of probation hearing to follow the pending trial for March 3, 2023.
