Counsel for a man charged with attempted murder is still waiting for evidence during reception court on Oct. 12 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Kamal Stewart, 28, is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, two counts of malicious destruction of property, and six firearm-related charges.
On Tuesday, Stewart’s defense attorney, Dalia Weintraub, said she is waiting for a victim impact statement. The defense and prosecution are also waiting for recordings of the 911 calls from the incident.
The plea offer that was rejected by Stewart was for 20 years, suspending all but five years, and five years of probation for attempted second-degree murder.
Stewart is scheduled to return to reception court on Nov. 9.
