A Baltimore man involved in a non-fatal shooting rejected a plea of 15 years in prison on Jan. 19 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Davon Wright and his defense counsel Michael Cooper rejected a plea of fifteen years, suspending all but six years with three years supervised probation for first-degree assault and a concurrent five years without the possibility of parole for the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime.
Wright, 22, is charged with first and second-degree assault, the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, discharging firearms, and malicious destruction of property value less than $1,000 in connection to an incident on Feb. 5, 2022.
Wright’s trial is scheduled for May 19, with Judge Myshala Middleton presiding. It is expected to last three days.
