The case of a homicide defendant was not called during reception court on March 3, before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Andrew Harvey Jr., 26, is charged with use of a firearm during a violent crime, two counts of first-degree murder, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection with an incident that happened on May 23, 2020. 

Initially, Harvey and his defense attorney, Gregory Fischer, rejected a plea of life for first-degree murder, and 20 years for possession of a firearm with a felony conviction on Sept. 29, 2021.

According to the Baltimore Sun, on May 23, 2020, officers were called to the 2100 block of North Pulaski Street where they found 43-year-old Tyrone McCray-Bey Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the first floor of a home in the Easterwood neighborhood in West Baltimore. 

McCray-Bey Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene, said police. 

According to the Maryland Judiciary website, Harvey’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 14.
