On May 16, officers from the Baltimore Police Department fatally shot a man on the 1800 block of E. Lafayette Avenue.

According to a press release, officers were called on a report of a family disturbance. When they arrived at a home on the block, they observed a 49-year-old man standing over a female victim holding a knife.

Officers discharged after repeated attempts to deescalate the situation, as seen on the body-worn camera footage, which was released to the public on May 19.

The suspect, Timothy Fleming, died on the scene.

The incident is under investigation.

The officers involved have 15 and seven years of experience, respectively.
