A club security guard pleaded guilty before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yolanda A. Tanner to a shooting outside of a club where he worked.

Larry Gordon Jr, 24,  pleaded guilty to two counts of reckless endangerment. His original charges were two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second- degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, and two firearm charges.

As part of the plea, Gordon was sentenced to five years in prison for each count. The time, except for one day was suspended. He must serve 3 years on supervised probation when released.

The prosecutor said Gordon was working as a security guard at Club Bellissimo, located on the 1000 block of East Pratt Street, on July 16, 2023, when an argument broke out between him and two men who had threatened him.

Gordon, afraid one of them might have a gun, returned to the club to grab a pistol. When he walked out, multiple shots were fired at him. He began firing back and struck one of the men in the chest.

Defense Attorney Warren Brown, acknowledged the recklessness of the situation, saying Gordon could have harmed bystanders.

However, the attorney emphasized that the shooting was a case of self-defense, referring to Gordon as a “big teddy bear” who had acted to protect others.

Gordon said he felt that he did the right thing by defending himself and others.
