On July 26, at around 5:25 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the 400 block of South Caroline Street to investigate a call for a bicyclist struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers were advised that the bicyclist, a 44-year-old male, was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of South Caroline Street and Bank Street. After being struck by a vehicle, the bicyclist was ejected off of the bike, hit another vehicle that was stopped on the 400 block of South Caroline Street and finally came to rest after hitting a third vehicle. Medics transported the bicyclist to an area hospital, where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased.
All three vehicles stayed on the scene. Accident Investigation Unit detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
