Baltimore Witness recorded 30 homicides and 57 non-fatal shootings from June 1 to June 30, 2021.
Compared with June 2020, the homicide count for June 2021 was about the same, but the non-fatal shooting count was 13.1 percent higher. At that time last year, there were 162 homicides (4 fewer) and 300 non-fatal shootings (42 fewer) in 2020.
As of July 20, 15.7 percent of this year’s homicides occurred in June, and 15 percent of this year’s non-fatal shootings occurred in June.
From June 1 to June 30, 2021:
Homicides: 30
Non-Fatal Shootings: 57
From January 1 to June 30, 2021:
Homicides: 166
Non-Fatal Shootings: 342
