A Baltimore man charged with attempted murder pleaded guilty to unauthorized removal of property and was sentenced to two years in prison on Dec. 8 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lynn S. Mays.

Gary Weldon was charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, carjacking and armed carjacking, firearm use during a felony violent crime, car theft, reckless endangerment, firearm possession with felony conviction and handgun on person and unauthorized removal of property in connection to an incident on July 25, 2021.

Weldon, 35, was represented by defense counsel Judit Otvos.

According to court documents read by the prosecutor, on the day of the incident officers were called to the 3700 block of Nortonia Road for reports of a shooting. There they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Witnesses identified the defendant as the person driving the victim’s stolen 2012 Chevy Equinox.

When given the opportunity to address the court during Thursday’s hearing, Weldon had only one thing to say, “I appreciate you giving me your time, your honor.”
