Baltimore Man Rejects 5-Year Plea

A 29-year-old non-fatal shooting defendant rejected a plea offer for five years in prison on Oct. 13 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

The defendant is charged with possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle, and illegal possession of ammo in connection to an incident on May 1. 

The prosecutor presented a plea of five years for possession of a firearm with a felony conviction. Under the plea, the defendant must also register as a gun offender. 

The defendant and his defense counsel, Jason Silverstein, rejected the plea. 

The defendant’s trial is scheduled for Jan. 24, 2023.
