On Aug. 5, a non-fatal shooting defendant rejected a plea of 12 years with three years of probation before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
The 43-year-old man is charged with first and second-degree assault, false imprisonment, having a handgun on person and use of a firearm in a violent crime in connection to an incident on Feb. 9.
The prosecutor offered the defendant a plea of 25 years in prison, suspending all but 12 years with 3 years of probation for first-degree assault.
Under the plea, Jones must join a domestic violence program and have no contact with the victim.
Jones was represented by defense attorney Julie Shapiro.
Jones’ trial is set to start on Aug.11.
