A 35-year old Baltimore man involved in a non-fatal shooting was denied bail on Feb. 15 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong.

Sean Smith is charged with first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm during a violent crime, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, possession of firearms, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun on his person, illegal possession of ammo, and discharging firearms in connection to an incident on Nov. 10, 2021.

On Tuesday, Judge Hong listened as the prosecutor informed the court that on Nov. 10, 2021 at approximately 9:41 p.m. patrol officers were called to the 600 block of North Glover Street for a shot spotter alert, where they found Smith (aka Curtis Brogden) suffering from an apparent gunshot to his leg. The prosecutor also noted that video surveillance revealed that the incident occurred in front of the Lucky Mart convenience store.

In addition, the prosecutor added that the defendant arrived with three unknown males, removed a handgun from waistband as well as had an argument with another group and a shoot out took place.

Smith’s defense attorney Robert Cole argued that his client was the only one injured suffering from a gunshot wound in his right leg.

After listening to counsel, Judge Hong denied the defendant’s bail

Smith’s next hearing is scheduled for April 7.
