On July 11, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn scheduled a trial for a defendant charged with murder.
Defendant Josh Roberts, represented by Brian Bishop, is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, and altering physical evidence in connection to an incident that occurred on Nov. 28, 2022.
As reported in a Baltimore Police Department press release, investigators believed Roberts shot and killed 38-year-old Khalil Tatum on the 3600 block of Woodlawn Avenue.
Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead at the location.
Bishop said he would be unavailable before the defendant’s Hick’s date of July 18. A Hick’s date is a defendant’s right to a trial within 180 days of his or his attorney’s first court appearance.
The prosecutor also had not submitted a plea to the 28-year-old defendant citing the need for additional time to review evidence.
Judge Phinn scheduled the defendant’s trial for Nov. 6 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Videtta Brown. The trial is expected to last five days.
