Baltimore Man Accused of First-Degree Assault Accepts Plea Deal

A 23-year-old Baltimore man accused of first-degree assault and a number of firearm charges entered a guilty plea on June 28 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Lamar Robinson was initially charged with first and second-degree assault, unauthorized removal of property, use of a handgun in use of a committing a crime, having a handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle, discharging firearms, illegal possession ammo, conspiracy to commit first and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit unauthorized removal of property, conspiracy to commit use of a firearm during a violent crime, and having a handgun in a vehicle in connection to a non-fatal shooting on Jan. 13,  along with two co-defendants, Tay’Zion Taylor and Jerry Alston. 

Robinson was arrested and charged for an incident on Jan. 13. According to court documents, a police officer observed him and his co-defendants exiting a vehicle that was later found to have been reported stolen. The defendant fled on foot and tossed a loaded semi-automatic rifle away from him. 

The prosecutor presented Robinson with a plea of three years, suspending all but one year, and two years on probation for the charge of wear/carry/transport of a handgun. The sentence will begin on Jan 13. 

Under the plea, Robinson is also required to register as a gun offender.

Taylor, 15, is being charged as an adult in this cases.

He was also arrested and charged for attempted murder of a 20-year-old man on May 18, in an unrelated crime, after arresting the first suspect about two weeks ago, according to CBS Baltimore.
