A Baltimore man accepted a plea offer before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn on Nov. 29.

Brian Clark accepted a plea of 40 years, suspending all but 20 years with five years of supervised probation for attempted first-degree murder and a concurrent sentence of five years without the possibility of parole for the use of a firearm in a felony violent crime.

Clark is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, armed robbery, robbery, attempted theft of less than $100, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and discharging firearms all in connection with an incident that happened on Nov. 26, 2021.

According to charging documents, Baltimore police officers were called to the 600 block of S. Fulton Avenue in response to a SpotShooter alert on the night of the incident. Once they arrived, they located the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen, back, and groin area.

The victim told police that he was approached by an unknown white male who demanded his car keys, but when he refused, the assailant allegedly took out a gun and shot him multiple times.

The stand-in assistant state’s attorney informed the court that he had notified the victim of the plea and today’s hearing. The victim had elected not to give an impact statement; however, the prosecutor said he wanted them to know that he is still undergoing medical treatment and rehabilitation for the multiple bullet fragments in his body.
