On April 16, a Baltimore County resident received his sentence from Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Barry G. Williams for a 2021 non-fatal shooting .
Michael Crispino, of Kingsville, Md., pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree assault and one count of firearm use in a felony violent crime on Jan. 22 for his attack on a process server and his wife on Aug. 29, 2021.
The prosecutor told Judge Williams the victims agreed to the terms of the plea deal and read a brief statement from them which said in part, “We forgive him for his actions.”
Crispino likewise said, “I’m sorry this occurrence happened,” calling the events of that day on the 1500 block of Parksley Avenue “life-changing.”
The 44-year-old defendant asked the judge to consider making an allowance so he could work. A small business owner of 20 years, he said his past two and a half years on home detention have negatively impacted his company and forced him to lay off several employees.
Judge Williams sentenced Crispino to concurrent terms of 15 years, suspending all but five years on home detention, for both counts of first-degree assault. For firearm use in a felony violent crime, Crispino will serve a concurrent five years of home detention, without the possibility of parole.
In addition to mental health and drug and alcohol treatment screening, Crispino will complete anger management courses, have no contact with the victims, register as a gun offender and complete five years of supervised probation upon release from his ankle monitor.
The judge gave Crispino credit for time served since he accepted the plea offer earlier this year.
District Court of Maryland documents state no one was injured after Crispino shot at the victims’ car.
