A 27-year-old homicide defendant was denied bail on Oct. 8 by Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey M. Geller.

Christopher Lee is charged with first-degree murder and firearm use in a felony violent crime for the death of his girlfriend, 30-year-old Jazmyn Reed on Jan. 14.

According to a previous report, Lee allegedly shot Reed while she was sitting in the passenger seat of Lee’s car following a verbal altercation on the highway.

During the bail hearing, Lee’s attorney Lawrence Greenberg described him as hardworking and emphasized that he called 911 immediately after the incident. He also argued that Lee was important to his whole family.

However, the prosecutor countered stating that Lee’s 911 call came 27 minutes after the shooting.

Judge Galler said that Reed’s family would never be able to see her again and denied Lee’s bail.
