A 44-year-old man from Baltimore’s Madison Park neighborhood rejected an attempted murder plea on Nov. 30 and will proceed with a jury trial this summer.
Wardell Richardson, who was represented by defense attorney Robert Cohen, rejected the prosecution’s plea offer of 45 years, suspending all but 20 years, and the first five years without parole in addition to five years of supervised probation and a stay-away order for attempted first-degree murder.
Richardson is also charged with attempted second-degree murder, assault, and four weapons charges.
Counsel and Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn agreed on a trial date of June 1, 2023, before Judge Erik Atas.
