A 37-year-old man is expected to head to trial in May for attempted murder after he was denied bail on Jan. 4 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Baltimore resident Deandre Whitehead attended a bail hearing on Tuesday as the prosecution informed the court of his charges, including attempted first and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and eight firearm-related charges.
According to the prosecution, Whitehead allegedly shot a 34-year-old man in the leg on March 26, 2021, after an argument on the 800 block of Carroll Street.
The defendant previously rejected a plea offer last November.
After hearing statements from the prosecution and defense attorney Marci Johnson, Whitehead was denied bail. His trial is currently scheduled for May 3.
