On Nov. 21, attempted murder defendant Roderick Johnson did not appear in court and his case was not called due to a scheduling error.
Court clerks said that Johnson’s sentencing will take place on Dec. 21, despite saying on July 28 it would occur today. Johnson, who is represented by defense attorney Benjamin Charlton, was supposed to appear in front of Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Kendra Y. Ausby.
Johnson, 38, was found guilty of first-degree attempted murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction and reckless endangerment. Johnson allegedly shot his wife on Nov. 4, 2021.
According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, Johnson is charged in connection to a non-fatal shooting of his wife on the 700 block of Linnard Street. The victim had been shot multiple times and also suffered brain trauma. The victim positively identified Johnson through a photograph shown.
