A 20-year-old man accused of attempted murder was offered a plea deal by the prosecutor on March 3 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Keyontae Everett is charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm during a violent crime, possession of a firearm as a minor, having a handgun on his person, reckless endangerment, and discharging a firearm within the city in connection to an incident on Sept. 11, 2021.
During reception court on Thursday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of 50 years suspending all but 25 years, the first five years without parole, for first-degree attempted murder.
Everett and his defense attorneys Bradley McFee and Kenneth Man told the judge that the defendant has not yet decided if he wants to accept or reject the deal.
According to Baltimore Fox, on Sept. 11, 2021, officers were called to the 3400 block of East Lombard Street at approximately 9:34 p.m. for reports of shots being fired. They found evidence of a shooting, but no victim.
Everett’s next hearing is scheduled for April 5.
