A 21-year-old attempted murder defendant received a pre-trial conference date on Sept. 27 for a retrial in reception court from Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland

Derrien Gamble is facing 39 charges, including attempted first- and second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, first- and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first- and second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and multiple firearms charges for an incident on Feb. 4, 2023.

Gamble’s pre-trial conference was scheduled for Feb. 13, 2025.

According to previous coverage, Gamble and three co-conspirators allegedly fired several rounds after two individuals exited their car on the 1500 block of Melford Road. Both victims were wounded. A witness identified Gamble as a participant in the shooting.

Gamble was found guilty of illegal possession of a firearm and carrying a loaded handgun in November 2023. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on the other charges, leading to this upcoming February retrial.
