On Jan. 3, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland set a trial date for a 32-year-old attempted murder defendant.
Antionne Johnson is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, discharging firearms, armed carjacking, carjacking, theft between $1,500 and $25,000, firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person and having a handgun in a vehicle in connection to a May 4, 2022, shooting.
Judge Copeland scheduled Johnson’s three-day trial to begin on March 21 before Judge John A. Howard.
Per a Baltimore Police Department press release, Johnson is suspected in the shooting of a 26-year-old man on the 2400 block of Greenmount Avenue.
Despite previously expressing dissatisfaction with his attorney, Johnson had not discharged Roland Harris as of Wednesday’s hearing.
Harris told the court that he and his client were still waiting for the results of his not criminally responsible (NCR) plea evaluation. He and Johnson are scheduled to appear in mental health court before Judge Gale E. Rasin on Jan. 31, when she will discuss the results.
