An attempted murder suspect accepted a plea of time served on June 6 for allegedly firing seven gunshots at another man nearly a year ago.
During reception court on Monday, Gabriel Abraham appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn to plead guilty to first-degree assault for 25 years, suspending all but time served, and five years probation as well as having a handgun on his person for a concurrent time served.
In addition to the aforementioned charges, Abraham was originally facing more charges, including attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, illegal possession of ammo, having a handgun in a public road, having a handgun within 100 yards of the public, and two counts each of reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction.
According to the prosecution, officers with the Baltimore Police Department received a ShotSpotter alert for seven shots fired shortly before 6:30 a.m. on June 14, 2021, on the unit block of W. 20th Street. After further investigation, police learned that Abraham and an unidentified man got into an altercation. When the man got into his vehicle and began driving away, Abraham allegedly fired multiple gunshots at the vehicle.
Abraham, who was represented by defense attorney Roland Brown, was previously released on electronic home monitoring in March.
