Dontre Johnson, 33, pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and firearm use in a violent crime before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Piper F. McKeithen on April 14.
He initially faced 13 charges for the non-fatal shooting of two male victims in a unit block of E. North Avenue on Aug. 31, 2024.
According to the court documents, CCTV footage captured Johnson wearing a ski mask and shooting one victim on his upper right arm and torso and the second on his upper back.
One victim was located suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene. The other rode a bicycle to the 1500 block of N. Collington Avenue to report the incident. Both were transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital for their injuries.
Johnson was sentenced to 45 years, suspending all but 15, for attempted first-degree murder, as well as five concurrent years for firearm use in a violent crime and five years of supervised probation. As part of the deal, he must maintain no contact with the victim.
