A 27-year-old man will serve 10 years in prison for attempted murder after accepting a plea deal on June 9 in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Baltimore resident Anthony Tydings appeared alongside his defense attorney, Erin Snyder, during Wednesday’s reception court proceedings in connection to an incident on May 16, 2021. The defendant accepted the prosecution’s plea offer of 30 years, suspending all but 10 years, and three years on probation for attempted second-degree murder and a concurrent five years without parole for firearm use during a felony violent crime.

Tydings was previously facing additional charges of attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to first-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and having a handgun on his person as well as multiple assault charges.

The plea also requires the defendant to stay away from the victim and register as a gun offender.
