Baltimore resident Damien Woods, 36, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder on Aug. 25 in connection to the death of a 34-year-old woman nearly three years ago.

On Nov. 4, 2018, officers from the Baltimore Police Department found Tracy Whiting unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds on the 2400 block of Francis Street. Medics pronounced Whiting dead at the scene.

Detectives received an arrest warrant for Woods on Aug. 18, 2021. Woods was charged with Whiting’s murder a week later.

Detectives believe Whiting’s death stemmed from a dispute, but the investigation is ongoing.
