Alleged Attempted Murderer Gets Plea Offer

A plea offer was presented to a 60-year-old man facing attempted murder charges during reception court on Sept. 1 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Al Ballinger is charged in connection with an incident on July 25, 2020. He is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, robbery, armed robbery, reckless endangerment, and use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure.

On Wednesday, the prosecution offered a plea of 25 years, suspending all but 12 years, with four years probation for attempted second-degree murder. This plea offer also comes with the condition that he stay away from the victim.

He is represented by Sharon Dubey. 

Ballinger is scheduled to return to reception court on Oct. 8, three days before his Hick’s date, which is his right to be tried within 180 days of his first court appearance.
