Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland rescheduled an alleged “39 Babies” gang member’s trial for later this week in June 3 hearing.
Keith Miller, 34, is charged with participating in a criminal organization, conspiracy to commit an unlawful act, conspiracy to distribute narcotics, attempted first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, possessing a fentanyl-heroin mix with intent to distribute, several counts of possessing narcotics with intent to distribute and possessing controlled dangerous substances that were not marijuana in connection to a Nov. 1, 2021, incident.
Keith Miller’s attorney Roya Hanna asked to reschedule the trial because there are witnesses in other ongoing trials that were unavailable to testify Monday. She also said the alleged victim in this incident could be available to testify if the case were postponed.
Miller is allegedly a high ranking member of the “39 Babies” gang and part of an indictment involving 33 co-defendants charged with gang activity by the same organization. The defendants have been split into nine groups that will be tried separately according to the Baltimore Attorney General’s Office.
Hanna and the prosecutor proposed a new trial date for October, but Judge Copeland preferred an earlier date, so the case will be reviewed for rescheduling again on June 5.
