A pair of defendants on trial for the murder of 38-year-old Clark Hohrein were found not guilty by a jury on Aug. 14.

William Holloman and Darell Parker, both 19, were charged with two counts of first-degree murder and firearm use in a felony or violent crime. Additionally, Parker was charged with being a minor in possession of a firearm.

The two-day trial concluded before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong on Wednesday when the jury returned its verdict later that afternoon.

On July 1, 2021, a Baltimore City police officer found Hohrein’s body on the sidewalk on the 600 block of West Mulberry Street. Hohrein had a gunshot wound to her neck and was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

At trial, defense attorneys Roya Hanna and Donald Wright, representing Holloman and Parker, respectively, argued there was little evidence against the co-defendants and no witnesses. Instead, the attorneys said the prosecution relied on video evidence that only showed three young men in the area.

The prosecutor described the video evidence as a “silent witness,” saying the clothing worn by Holloman and Parker matched the clothing of the suspects in the video.
