Accused Triple Shooter Denied Bail

A Baltimore man accused of a triple shooting in April will remain held without bail.

Cody Boothe, 26, is charged with three counts each of first and second-degree attempted murder in connection to a shooting shortly after 5 p.m. on April 15 on the 3400 block of Leverton Avenue. He is also facing multiple assault, reckless endangerment, and firearm-related charges.

During bail review on Dec. 14, defense attorney Brandon Mead alleged that his client was not the assailant but rather a victim, as Boothe was shot in the back at the time of the incident.

The prosecution argued that Boothe was shot as an act of self-defense from the victims. The defendant also left the hospital without being properly discharged, he noted.

“Despite your outstanding advocacy for Mr. Boothe, he is charged with shooting multiple people and that is a threat to public safety,” Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer said.

Boothe was then denied bail for the second time since September.
