On June 9, a Baltimore County resident accused of committing a homicide in 2020 was denied bail before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Shiffer.

Defense attorney Linda B. Zeit said on Friday that she had acquired over 500 signatures of gratitude toward Keith Taylor, as he is known to be a very good man around his community.

According to the Maryland Judiciary website, the defendant has previous assault charges dating back to 1999.

The 43-year-old defendant is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, handgun on his person, and possessing a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to the death of 23-year-old Jazzwind Kasif Fulton on April 18, 2020.

According to court documents, doctors found the victim to have multiple gunshot wounds. Surveillance video showed Taylor chasing the victim to the victim’s car and shooting him as soon as he entered the driver’s seat of the car. After Fulton had been shot, Taylor then transported the body to the trunk of the car and drove away.

According to the prosecutor, on the day of the incident, Taylor fatally shot Fulton when he and another man tried to steal from Taylor’s auto parts store business on the 2300 block of Evergreen Street. Taylor then dumped the body miles away from the scene of the murder.
