On Oct. 5, a non-fatal shooting defendant rejected a seven year plea offer before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.

Rashad Bryant is charged with firearm/drug trafficking, possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm as a minor, firing a gun in Baltimore City, having a loaded handgun on his person and possession of a firearm without a serial number in connection to an April 24 incident.

Bryant, 20, rejected a plea offer for five years without the possibility of parole for firearm/drug trafficking and a concurrent two years for possession of a firearm without a serial number.

Bryant and his attorney, John Cox, will appear for trial on Nov. 27 before Judge Jeffrey M. Geller as a backup, as the prosecutor thinks the primary case for that day will resolve before then.
