A mental health court hearing for homicide defendant Cortez Johnson was canceled on Jan. 4 for reasons unknown to Baltimore Witness.
The 22-year-old defendant was scheduled to appear before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale Rasin on Wednesday in regard to his September 2022 conviction of first-degree murder and firearm use in a felony violent crime for the death of 38-year-old Ivan Joseph Green.
Johnson, who is represented by defense attorney James Scott, is next set to appear in court on Jan. 10.
The fatal shooting occurred on April 17, 2021, on the 1900 block of Braddish Avenue. Baltimore Police found Green dead from a gunshot wound.
