On Aug. 8, an accused attempted murderer had his trial date set for Nov. 14 with a new defense attorney before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Defendant Clarence Temple‘s previous attorney was Karyn Meriwether, but going forward it will be Natalie Finegar.
According to Finegar, the defendant previously rejected a plea of 50 years, suspending all but 25 years with five years of supervised probation for attempted first-degree murder and a concurrent sentence of 50 years with the first five years without the possibility of parole for the use of a firearm in a felony violent crime.
Temple, 25, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun on his person and discharging firearms in connection to an incident that occurred on Jan 15, 2020.
According to court documents, there were two witnesses that had been called in for interviews regarding a shooting that occurred around the 1400 block of Frederick Avenue. They provided pictures of the defendant to investigators. After reviewing multiple surveillance videos, investigators were able to identify Temple as a suspect.
Temple’s trial date is scheduled for Nov. 14 and is expected to last four days before Judge Cynthia H. Jones.
