On June 14, 2024, at approximately 8:51 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of North Pulaski Street in response to a dog bite incident.

Upon arrival, it was reported that two stray pit bulldogs had attacked three individuals. Among the victims, a 67-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening dog bites. The third victim, 54-year-old Sheila Jones, tragically succumbed to her injuries. In response, two officers discharged their firearms, striking one of the dogs.

Both dogs were subsequently apprehended by Animal Control. The dog that was shot was euthanized due to the severity of its injuries. The other dog remains in custody.
