On Jan. 23, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled the trial of a 36-year-old attempted murder defendant.
Calvin Marshall is charged with three charges each of attempted first- and second-degree murder, four counts of first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person and in a vehicle, four counts of reckless endangerment and firing a gun in Baltimore City in connection to a July 23, 2023, incident.
Marshall rejected the prosecution’s plea offer of 50 years, suspending all but 25 years, with five years of probation for attempted first-degree murder and a concurrent five years without the possibility of parole for firearm use in a felony violent crime.
Defense attorney Jeremy Eldridge requested a continuance to allow more time for the defense to go through phone records and to locate and subpoena a witness.
Rather than continue the case, Judge Copeland scheduled Marshall’s three-day trial to begin on March 20.
