Scooter-Rider Hit by Bus Dies

On Nov. 5, at approximately 6:12 p.m., Central District officers responded to the 200 block of Light Street for a call of a pedestrian struck by a MTA Bus.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the bus struck a pedestrian, who was on a scooter at the intersection of East Pratt and Light Streets. The bus then crashed into bushes and a light pole.

The male pedestrian, 31-year-old Marquise Fortune, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the bus was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for minor injuries. The driver is listed in stable condition.

C.R.A.S.H. Team investigators were summoned to the scene and assumed control over the investigation. MTA Police are on scene and assisting in the investigation.
