On Sept. 9, at approximately 4:38 p.m., officers responded to the rear of the 6100 block of Bowleys Lane to investigate a call for a body in the woods.
Upon arrival, officers observed a deceased body, later identified as 19-year-old Jeffry Castellanos Figueroa, with signs of trauma. The Medical Examiner’s Office responded, took possession of the body and later determined Figueroa died by shooting.
Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
