Police Arrest Suspect in Police-Involved Aggravated Assault

On Sept. 5, Regional Auto Theft Task Force members arrested 33-year-old Alex Husson of Ellicott City on the 9700 block of Robert Jay Way, following detective’s investigation into an incident that occurred earlier in the day on the 3400 block of Wilkens Avenue.

Detectives believe Husson struck two struck two Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers with his vehicle while attempting to flee from the scene.

It has been confirmed that Husson was neither shot nor injured during these events.

Husson will be transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he will be formally charged.

The Baltimore Police Department’s Special Investigations Response Team (SIRT) is investigating this incident. The department has activated its Public Release of Critical Incident Recordings Policy.

On the day of the incident, at approximately 11:19 a.m., detectives were inside of a convenience store in the 3600 block of Wilkens Avenue, when they observed an unidentified adult male stealing from the location.

The suspect fled the store and entered a black colored SUV.

As the suspect attempted to flee the location, the suspect struck two officers with his SUV. Another officer then discharged his weapon at the suspect’s vehicle.

Initially, it was unknown if the suspect was shot.

Medics responded to the scene and transported both Southwest District officers to area hospitals for treatment.
