2022 Attempted Murder Defendant Found Competent to Proceed with Trial

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin read from a report on April 12, which stated that a defendant accused of committing a murder in 2022 was found competent to stand trial.

Based on a medical evaluation conducted by Circuit Court Medical Judge Rasin found the accused attempted murder defendant Kelvin Morris competent to stand trial in connection to a non-fatal shooting that occurred on April 14, 2022.

Morris, 34, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree child abuse resulting in severe physical injury, first-degree assault three counts of second-degree assault, two counts of second-degree child abuse by a custodian, and three counts of reckless endangerment.

During the hearing on Wednesday, Morris was represented by defense attorney Sharon Bogins.

Morris’ next hearing was scheduled for May 12 in reception court.
