A Baltimore City Circuit Court judge postponed a murder trial on July 31 for a third time due to the prosecuting attorney being out on extended leave following the death of his spouse.
Judge Melissa M. Phinn rescheduled defendant Isaiah Bell’s case to begin trial on Nov. 14 before Judge Videtta A. Brown. The trial is expected to last four days.
The 21-year-old defendant, represented by defense attorney Andrea Jaskulsky, was indicted over a year ago. This is the third time Bell’s trial has been postponed.
Bell was identified as a suspect by eyewitnesses in the murder of 21-year-old Caron McCaskill on April 19, 2022, inside a Busy Bee grocery store on the 1800 block of Wilhelm Street.
Bell allegedly shot McCaskill in retaliation for beating him up a few months prior and posting the fight on social media.
Bell is charged with first-degree murder and firearm use in a felony violent crime.
