Charges Dismissed in Fairhaven Avenue Shooting Case

The case against a 33-year-old Baltimore City resident accused of being involved in a shooting was dismissed on July 17.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong granted the dismissal in the case against defendant Richard Duckett. The reason behind the dismissal was not disclosed during the hearing.

According to the Maryland Judiciary Website, Duckett was charged with reckless endangerment, conspiracy to have a loaded handgun in a vehicle, loaded handgun in a vehicle, loaded handgun on a person, handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun on his person, malicious destruction of property valued at more than $1000 and discharging a firearm.

The defendant, who was represented by Marybeth Irons, was charged because of his suspected involvement in an incident that occurred on March 20. Baltimore Police Department officers responded to a reported discharging of a firearm on the 4400 block of Fairhaven Avenue, where shell casings and a vehicle with bullet holes were located. The victim presented the police with a video that implicated the defendant in the incident.
