Defendant Accepts Plea Agreement for the Murder of His Girlfriend

A homicide defendant accepted a plea offer for the murder of his girlfriend on June 27 before Baltimore City Circuit Judge Robert Taylor, with sentencing scheduled for later this summer.

Defendant Bruce Poole, alongside his defense attorney Judit Otvos, accepted the prosecutor’s offer of life, suspending no less than 25 years and no more than 40 years, with five years of supervised probation for first-degree murder during Tuesday’s proceeding.

Poole’s sentencing was scheduled for Aug. 14 before Judge Taylor.

According to the Maryland Judiciary website, Poole, 63, was charged with first-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure, unauthorized disposal of a body, and altering physical evidence in connection to an incident that occurred on Sept. 21, 2022.

According to court documents, on the day of the incident, Baltimore Police were called to the 2100 block of Kloman Street for reports of a dead body. The victim, later identified as Kelly Logan, was found with multiple stab wounds to her head and neck.

Police later found video footage that showed the defendant removing items from both the defendant and the victim’s apartment using a shopping cart with a large trash bag containing what police believe to be Logan’s remains.
