Officers Make Arrest in West Lanvale Street Shooting Investigation

On July 17, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force, Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and Western District Action Team arrested 62-year-old Antonio Fitzhugh of Baltimore on the 1900 block of Ridgehill Avenue.

Detectives believe Fitzhugh shot a 49-year-old male on June 27, on the 800 block of West Lanvale Street.

Detectives transported Fitzhugh to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder and various handgun violations.

On the day of the incident, at approximately 5:24 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of West Lanvale Street and North Fremont Avenue to investigate a call for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. Medics responded and transported the victim to an area hospital to receive treatment.

Preliminary Investigation revealed that the victim was shot in the 800 block of West Lanvale Street.

Central District Shooting detectives with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded and assumed control over this investigation.
