Convicted Murderer Sentenced to Life in Prison for 2020 Fatal Stabbing

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gregory Sampson sentenced a convicted attempted murder defendant to life plus five years in prison on Jan. 17.

During Tuesday’s hearing, Marvin Vaughn, 44, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life for first-degree attempted murder, a concurrent sentence of 40 years for second-degree murder, a concurrent sentence of five years for displaying a firearm in front of a minor, and a consecutive three years for the use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure in connection to an incident on Jan. 2, 2020.

According to court documents, on the day of the incident, officers were called to the 3500 block of Chesterfield Avenue for reports of an aggravated assault. On arrival, officers found two victims suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The first victim was a 19-year-old male with stab wounds to the head and the second victim was 37-year-old Theatra Bowman.

Both victims were taken to Bayview Hospital, where Bowman was pronounced deceased.
