A homicide defendant will be sentenced for the murder of 47-year-old Ali Bey this April following a plea agreement that was reached on Feb. 13.

Shawn Purvis, 52, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and firearm use in a felony violent crime on Monday before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lynn Stewart Mays, who scheduled his sentencing for April 11.

The incident in question occurred on June 3, 2021; however, Baltimore Police did not find Bey until a day later on the 1900 block of E. 20th Street where she was found lying in the street.
