A Baltimore man accused of attempted murder rejected a plea offered to him by prosecutors on Feb. 10 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Defendant Robert Myers rejected a plea of life, suspending all but 30 years with five years of supervised probation for attempted first-degree murder. The defendant would have also been required to stay away from the victim, enter a program for abusers and register as a gun offender.
According to the Maryland Judiciary website, the 32-year-old defendant is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person, having a loaded handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, malicious destruction of property valuing less than $1,000 and two counts of reckless endangerment for an incident that occurred on July 27, 2022.
Myers, who is represented by Roland Brown, is set to begin trial on June 8 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Nicole Barmore.
